Without lying, we leaned on mine next to the top where it curves to get them out, using your feet will shoot them over the neighbours roof...

YEa sadly LWB are different, but the poverty pack ones should be cheap as piss from wrecker..

Ok cool looks like there will be more people looking at getting some replacement frames. So far looks like we have the 5 people so that is $100 each. Just to confirm that is $100 per side.
So we have :
2 in Syd ( Including Myself ) 4 Frames
3 In Mel 6 Frames
Total of 10 Frames
So 10 x 20 = $200 Saving on the 10 frames I was quoted at 30-40 bucks for shipping 1 set of frames to Sydney (would expect it would be more for 10 Frames) could offload 2 sets in Syd and send the rest to Mel. I will have to confirm this but I would say I could get them sent to Sam at Overkill Engineering Hornsby just need to figure out who to send to in Mel..
** The Money would go direct to the company in SA that makes Boat Windows etc **
I will work this out as I am sure there will be more people wanting to replace the frames at some stage. This company does not make the frames anymore so are clearing out what they have. I am happy to coordinate getting the frames to who wants them.
I will be calling the place and advise of the interest in the frames as each person would have to call up and pay. At least the shipping would be free… I guess we would have to figure out a total figure and divide it by the number of people.
Eg: 10 Frames at 100 each that’s $1000 and shipping say $100
$1100 Devide by 5 = $220 each.
Go it alone and it costs
$120 Each so $240 plus $40 to ship = $280 would save $60
Will get back with more info either way they are cheep compared to Nissan Frames $450 a side no felt and they will rust agin.

The frames are Aluminum After Market.
I called up Nissan Parts and found out that the LWB Rubber comes with the Frame and the SWB are separate go figure.

Cost are as follows from Blacktown Nissan Parts Andrew is the contact.
LWB $187.13 Part Number 833006J02 $159.00 Trade (Rubber and the frame)
SWB $198.82 Part Number 8333201J00 $152.00 Trade (Rubber Only)
I am going to try and reuse the rubber depends on the condition I guess..
Note: Nissan frames are not Aluminum and the SWB frame is around $450 not including rubber..

Ok at this stage we have some going to Mel and Some to Syd I am going to post the contact info of the Window place as soon as I call them and advise that people will be calling. Each person will have to call them to pay and the transport will be shared it will save you a fair bit once we have the final numbers.
It is better to get the lot sent in one hit I will keep Everone updated.

dude, start a new thread called "sliding glass frame orders" or similar, and put all your info and contact arrangements and stuff in there, and I'll make it a sticky.

Ok I will start a new one with more info.. Working on making this a smooth process don't want to make it to complicated for everyone.

Will update Everone soon.

So basically for the price go Genuine, they come with the rubber etc?

I have a genuine Nissan left rear side frame sitting here at the moment, 99.9% sure you can reuse the rubber, its steel moulded into the rubber. I can take photos if required.

for $50 difference in the aftermarket and OEM, is it worth the hassles?? See if you can get a deal on Genuine ones at teh $187 price, 10 sets should get it down to $150 I think!

Ok I can see the confusion. For Short Wheel Base Patrols Nissan DOES NOT sell the Frames and the Weather Strip (Rubber) as one part. You have to get the Frame quoted at over $400 per side and add the cost of the weather strip on top. (I have quoted prices from Nissan)
If you have a Long Wheel Base Patrol and the Rubber is still in good condition (Can be reused) then you would save on the aftermarket frame. If you need both you would just get the Nissan ones unless you specifically wanted to go Aluminum and chuck the steal Nissan frame and just use the rubber. Oh and don't quote me on this but I don't think that the SWB Nissan frames come with the felt...

So it is up to whoever wants them to decide if it is cheep, worth there while etc regardless of who decides to get Frames I am getting them. Aluminum (Never rust again) as apposed to the Nissan ones and the company who makes them builds window frames for boats the cop salt etc so I would say outlive the car.

I hope that it clears things up I will get the exact cost to replace if you get all the parts from Nissan. All the contact info for Nissan is there for anyone who wants to look in to the savings for themselves. Just passing on what I found to the rest of you guys. ;)
Regards David

** I asked the guy how come Nissan SWB frames are so much more and he said " Because SWB Patrols are not as common as LWB"
