Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set

I think it was $179 a unit when i got it. I should have got a 12v charge unit too!

I'm running two different helmets one for the truck and one for the trials bike, you can purchase the mike and speaker unit extra for just such setups

Can anyone dumb it down for someone who knows nothing about bluetooth...do you need to have cell-phone reception for it to work?

And just on the blue-ant setups, what sort of talk time do you actually get from a set of batteries? Is it as per the info, or do you need to replace them half way through a comp.

And what is the actual range of them?

you need two of those interphone things at about $180 each. They talk to each other directly through bluetooth. no need for a phone or reception. You could pair one of them with your mobile if you wanted to take a call without pulling over.

Batteries seem pretty good. well and truely lasted the last weekend comp and we forgot to disconnect them a couple of times. there are claimed times on the product site that are pretty huge.

We found them very clear, and th volume is loud enough for me in my buggy.

Yeh bluetooth is simply the name for a short range wireless communication protocol that has become very popular with all sorts of devices. It has nothing to do with the mobile phone network, mobile phones just happen to use it as its excellent for communicating with other devices in close range without say the pain of a cable or line-of-sight infrared.

You can get there here in NZ, but they're quite a bit more expensive from memory. I can give you the number of a company here that sells them if you can't get a set sent back with your folks Mitch. They don't normally sell to individuals but gave me a quote when I rang up and enquired about them

These things are awesome, used them for the first time at Ateco and it was always mega clear no matter how hard we were going or I was puffing! I would highly recommend these to anyone doing winch challenge comps or crawling where you need to be constantly talking to your navi/spotter. They have a good range too, and cheap in comparison to other alternatives.

Hey im looking at getting these or similar. im just wondering do you synchronise the 2 together, or is it on a common open frequency?
at TuffTruck all the stages are close. im just wondering if this leads to problems with interference etc etc...
