GQII Patrol YAY!!
Have never seen a 130w bi-pin JYC 6.35 bulb. Thats what their official name is. But that is certainly not saying that they dont make them.
Osram make the bi-pins that Lightforce use, though Philips also make similar bulbs.
Have sold heaps over the last few years for about $10 for a pair when I've had them in. Haven't got any at the moment but.
As for the 130watter, if they exist, they should be ok in one of the newer housings - that is, those that have the alloy heatsink.
And yep, go HID. Coz only this morning I finally got me newer H3 adpaters in for the 170's/240's. I gotta now try to get rid of them...

Got 500 in, painted them this morning.
(ignore the date)
Funny looking thing aint it? A Ninja Star...
5mm hole up top is to whack in a white/green/blue LED and connect to your parking lights if you wanna do that. White LED's are fully legal. Connect with a 560 ohm resisitor in series...
Other blokes also are doing mounts, however these are the only mounts that I know of that will fit both the old and the new version of the Lightforce bulb mounting system, as well as allowing you to put the old halogen bulb back into place if you want, after carefully removing the original ceramic housing. And these are also the dead set cheapest. 1/6th the price of some others that I have seen...
I'll also drill out a pair of the newer alloy heatsink housings to fit a H3 bulb for $20, postage included. This will destroy the chance of putting the original halogen bi-pin back in though.
Have had a few peeps put them into 170's on their bull bars, however have yet to hear of anyone putting it into a handheld 170. Have had ~5 to 8 peeps put them into handheld Blitz 240's.andrew e wrote:Hey dave, can you put one of those in a LF170 hand held spotlight for hunting?
The lower mount of the 170 hand held is identical to that of the 170 driving light, and so will fit fine. Just gotta drill out the rear, and then somehow mount the ballast close by. Or make up yourself / buy (extremely rare!!) / get me to make some high-tension extension leads, and mount the ballast next to the battery... 1500 to 2000mm away.
Whilst Im on a roll: H3 55w 5000k kits currently in stock...
Look out for these on top of "Chubby 2" at Tuff Truck whilst night driving in the mud. Might be in a pair of XGT's, might be in four IPF's. Dunno yet.
