what box has longest travel of pitman arm, good reliability and least effort to turn out of all steer boxes (ie east west patrol type)
I'm wanting to get around 50 deg out of the wheels but i think this may be pushing the boundry.
I'm looking for the best donor for next project.

dont know bout range of movement but GU boxes are bloody light steering even with 35s and are quite strong too, most winch guys snap pitman arms before the box dies.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

The length of the pit man arm will determine the amount of steering you get. Although there are alot of other factors to consider, especially if this is to be driven at speed or on the road.
I'm presuming you talking about a buggy though?

the sector shafts on gq/gu and 60ser are virtually the same diameter at the weakest point, so as far as overall strength goes there is no great advantage.

FYI: IFS and 60series box seals can handle 175bar no probs!!! ;) and the power head can take upto 2.5gpm :twisted:

wow i'd hate to be around if it blew at that.

I have an 80 series box there, I will most likly use that.

when you say power head is that an after market thing or is it the control valve on the box?
