Post by GUpatrol02 »

Ive just had my pump timing changed from 0.5mm to 0.67mm. will this make much difference to power and economy?

It may, but its generally done with other tune up items to get the best out of the whole package. The td42 has a few timing specs depending on what is being done to the vehicle.

Can you not tell the power difference now you have the car back?

The ideal setting is .75mm @tdc. That is a td42 gq setting.

I was told 0.68 to 0.79 for td42 turbo, does that sound right?

A 3L toyota engine has has two specs. The spec with a cold start device on the side of the pump is .54-.66mm @tdc, without cold start device is .84-.96mm@tdc.
