Clutch upgrade 4.2TD?

Post by drew4130 »

Hi all I have a 2001 GU cab chassis 4.2TD and am about to install a PWR water to air, 3inch exhaust and get it tuned for (hoping) about 100kw's or so @ the wheels. A mate has told me ill need to upgrade the clutch for the extra power and torque :?: is this true, if so what is the best clutch to upgrade it to?

I recently put an aftermarket turbo on my GQ TD42 the clutch had shown no signs of slippage before. After fitting turbo and winding fuel up a bit it now slips badly under acceleration.

Ive priced some clutchs and am probablly going to go with an extra heavy duty from Adelaide Clutch Services, about $650.

Go the 4 terrain, only ever heard good things about them. I got one and it is sitting waiting to go in, looks like a very good unit, plus I like the wooden box it comes in! :D
