Argosheild is the go.

Co2 will do if you have a heater, but argoshield is fine.

Run straight Argon if you already have to save an extra bottle, but any of the Argo/Mig sheilds will do.

Be aware all BOC bottles are now tagged with a bar code. But its not hard to swap the bar code from bottle to bottle. You just need to make sure the account holder allways ends up with there bar code back after you swap them. I do exactly what you are trying to do but with E bottles. Im sorry i cant help you out though.

Bottle rental is a rip off.

Yep, specially since it takes me 3 or 4 years to use the gas in 1 bottle.

At work used to use pure argon, now they use argoshield, a 50 mix of argon/co2, it's ok, but the co2 causes extra splatter compared to pure argon.

Thats very odd as they now need to scan all outgoing and incomming bottles to an account.
