new 1.3L coil -- where?

Post by Brendan-s »

Still having electrical troubles with the Zook, replaced all leads, plugs, dizzy cap etc but it still cuts in and out. Idles fine but once you load it up to take off it dies in the arse. Tried arcing the coil lead out to a head bolt and it's only sparking intermittently so I figure that's the next thing to replace (lead is new, I mean the actual coil).

Repco want $170.00, Bursons and Supercheap don't list a 1.3 coil. Waiting on a call back from Suzuki but I'll be surprised if it's cheaper than that.

Funnily enough lowrangeoffroad.com have this for $53.00 american... will probably end up ordering this, but I'd prefer somewhere I could pick it up this weekend...

Whats wrong with the wreckers?
Couldn't be any more than $10 could it?

I was under the impression that a coil after 20 years of service would be pretty rooted anyway?? That's why I didn't think of a wreckers and looked new. But I am willing to be convinced that a second hand one could be worth a try, I know it's pot luck what condition it'll be in though.

Update: Peps have them for $85... little bit better than $170!

I meant get one from the wreckers to replace yours until you can get a new one and keep the wreckers coil as a spare.
Will get you back on the road in the week or two it'll take to get a new one.

Fair enough. Think I will just drive the Suby to work for a couple of days and leave the Zook at home, so it's no drama in that regard. Just want to get a new one without spending $200!
