Just about to undertake my 100k service on my Challenger. Just wanting to know what to replace. I've read the service guides and all it states timing belt and filters etc, but is there anything else I should be looking into replacing? I've heard people talking about water pumps etc.
Basically what I'm looking at doing so far is:
Timing belt
Motor oil, diff oils
Filters, air, fuel, and oil
Transmission fluid
Radiator coolant.
Thanks in advance.

Challenger 100k major service
Moderator: -Scott-
I did the 100000K service on my Pajero and my wife's Magna a few years back. I didn't do the water pump, and about 5000 k later, had to strip the pajero down and do it. It cost about $140 from memory for the pump. At the time, I noted that the crankshaft oil seal was weeping a bit, and didn't replace it because it was a weekend. Both cars are coming up to their 200000 service now, and I will do oil seals and water pumps on both.
I would also look at replacing the idler pulleys, or at least repacking their bearings with appropriate grease, because if you have to access them later, it is a real pain in the ..... You need a special tool to tension the timing belt - the Haymes manual gives details of how to make it. I found it a bit awkward to use, but so far haven't had belt failures, so I reckon I got it right in the end. I actually partially stripped the covers etc to check after a few thousand km to check that all was going OK. It was...
Also, look at your spark plugs about this time. It is not part of the timing belt work, but they should be replaced about this time as well. For the Pajero, it is a bit of a pain. The Magna is a pain for the rear 3 plugs - you can actually see the front 3 and replace them easily.
