NM-NS IRS locker

Post by 1MadEngineer »

Hi,
OK i am wondering roughly how much second hand for a rear irs diff setup from a NM,NP or NS. (sorry if i got it wrong i am not really up with mitsi stuff) i am looking for one with a factory locker, or if you can get other sorts of lockers for them?? I think the ones i am looking at have 9.5" ring gears??

any advice on strength / price / axle size / cv size?? would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if any of the gEN3 had the locker option in Oz. Even If it was an option , you could have trouble sourcing one. I looked for ages before I found a second hand locker for mine, (non IRS).

ARB are apparantly working on a locker for the 3.5l & TDI diffs, which will cover the IRS & non IRS vehicles with the larger diff.

I enquired a while ago & was told it could be ready this year, but dont hold your breath!.

Otherwise why not get the ARB front locker, far more effective that a rear locker IMO.

cheers

Been advertised a few times (with no bids).
Buy it now price $150 less then last advertised (about a month or 2 ago).

No diff lock though I assume (Presume it would have the factory fitted Torsen type LSD)

I was speaking to a guy at the club the other night and he had been talking to ARB about the rear locker(he has an NP). They recon it is very close to being released, should only be a matter of weeks.

hasn't that been the case thought for the last couple of years?

I am hoping I'm wrong though, as I 3.2DID with ASC and F/R lockers would be sweet

i will be starting in ernest to try and find one later this year. As the new hilux project will hopefully be up and running by then!!

The rear 3rd member is going to be used as a H/D front IFS (thats why i am chasing the 9.5" one with the locker!!!!) and ATM will be running 300M axles and Dana60 kingpin knuckles with Longfield D60 cv joints

A seriously strong IFS setup for a change.
