Clutch gone?

Post by macklux83 »

Hi guys, went to drive my car today after replacing the rear diff housing and it wont move at all when in gear, it was driving fine yesterday but now it will not move at all. I can put it in gear with the engine running and it does not stall.
I'm guessing it is probably a clutch but why would it go bad like that overnight?
cheers

probably not your clutch. If you were messing with your rear diff chances are it's your rear diff.
At first I thought it was a sea anemone, upon closer inspection I realised it was a funky ball of tits from outer space.

OK, have had some time to check and yes the tailshaft is spinning while the car is in gear. so im guessing hopefully it is just an issue with the diff center not being in correctly, can anybody tell me what i might have done wrong, is it possible to put them in upside down or anything dumb like that?
cheers

to be honest if you have managed to fit a centre and get no drive at all it is time to take it to someone who knows what they are doing

ps you did refit the axels didnt you?

if you could put it in upside down the car would have 5 reverse gears n 1 forward
