Seized shock adjusters

Post by eighty8 »

I have tough dog adjustables of which all the adjusters are either stuck in one position or move a click each way.

Is there a way of fixing this problem?. Has anyone had a go at fixing it?.
cheers

My Ranchos did the same. If they are the same set up just take the adjusting dial off (two small bolts) and free them up with any kind of penetrating lubricant. I had to give a couple of them a tap with a punch to get them moving first, then they were fine. I did all four with the shocks still on the car.

Thanks for the replies. The adjusters looked like they were held in by rivets but had a quick look today and they could be small allen heads. Will clean them up and give the remove and lube a go this week.
cheers.

Sometimes the o-ring underneath can sieze up the adjustment pressure thingie (technical term I know), they are apparently quite simple to remove, lube, and replace though.

I sent 4 shocks back to 4way for this prob, they apparently fixed them in about 1/2 hour, either way I had the shocks back real quick.
