Hi Just fitted a gu turbo, gu pump and intercooler to my gq and I am wanting to get it dyno tuned.

How much can I expect to pay and does anyone have any reccommendations?

I was also going to fit a boost and pyro gauge, should I do this before getting it dynoed?

Hey AC, how did all of the parts go together, easy? Are you happy with the difference in power/torque?

See if you can post up a before and after dyno run from the workshop!!

sure no problem, just driving it as it is it feels far more responsive and crisp, I would have been happy with the straight 4.2 if I was just doing flat terrain work and in the bush, for that it was good , however hitting hills on the road was doing my head in. One day I may look at just upgrading the turbo to get a little more performance. To date it has costed me $900 for the Gu turbo, $700 for the GU injector pump and GU injectors, $700 for th 3inch exhaust and about $500 for the front mount intercooler setup. I am wanting to put a pyro and possibly a boost gauge even though I am only wanting to set it at around 9 to 10psi, whether I really need a gauge i dont know. the other option instead of a boost was a water temp gauge. Just fromthe comments of the forum the standard nissan one isnt that accurate when the temp starts to rise. Mine sits on a third day in day out even after mods.
My patrol is not a comp vehicle, it does its far share of bush work and has a few love bumps here and there but it is a great car. I havent done many trips to date with it as I just dont want to do too much without the pyro connected or not being dynoed.

But I am definetly interested to see the results from the dyno, have never had one done before hence my thread on how much to expect. I have never done a turbo before or really know much about diesels but it was easy, i still have a little work to do with piping from turbo to intercooler. I run the standard dual battery and I am using a diesel box which sits behind passenger light, it is just tight to get piping through there. A bit more knowledge on intercoler piping would been handy, again I am a novice to diesels, turbos and intercoolers. I have always stuffed around with chev hiluxes and 304 patrols.

Yeah, i hear ya on the intercooler plumbing. I'd have to say that a large majority of the work/time on my 180B was spent on intake plumbing. PITA!!

Great to see you're happy with the conversion, gives me a bit more inspiration to do it myself rather than fork out 5 big ones for someone to do it for me. Can i ask where you sourced your parts??

go to dieseltec. Could not recommend Andy more highly. And i am from perth. I got a modded gu pump and turbo off him and his service was exceptional. Very Happy.

parts are off this forum and ebay except for the intercooler which is an autobarn job.
