Hi guys i am looking into buying a pajero nh turbo diesel?Is there anything i shoud be looking for when buying it?Any known faults?Also offroad are there many faults the vehicle has or any known faults?When will the engine need a rebuild?Thanks

If it's NH turbo-diesel it should be the 2.5. If it's a J-top import (not Aussie NH), it could be either 2.5 or 2.8.

didnt the Aus spec ones come with the 4m40 in 93 onwards?

mine is a 93 with the 4d56,
if you get one with the 4d56 then id recommend changing the timing belt or at least inspecting it.
make sure you look at the lower one. ( i took the top cover off and looked at the top one and assumed it was ok. i didnt know there was a lower one too :cry: )

Officially, the 2.8 was introduced in Oz with the NJ in late '93. They were released for sale in November (from memory) but some probably have earlier build dates - but they should still be plated as NJ. Other markets got the 2.8 in earlier models, but we didn't. I don't know if end of run NH got the 2.8?
