Installed them today, endless air eat your heart out.....Pumped up a 35" from 10psi to 35psi in 1 min.

That's impressive, but is it really quicker than endless air? I reckon my York would match that at around 3000rpm engine speed, easy.

I was looking at endless but the bracket alone was going to cost $350. This whole setup cost me $200 and it pumps simular volume of air.

I noticed the piston got warm but l didnt check the bracket. If needed l will put a plate between the floor and bracket.

I would suggest a pair of 'one way valves'. One in each compressors outlet so that if one dies the good one doesn't lose all its air through the dead one.
All in all it looks like a very efficient setup.

the grounding / 12 volt + needs work tho .. no good for river xings

Just watch that blue hose, using my comps flat out the blue hose can soften once they get really hot, yours might not do that, their is some red hose that solved my problem, and very near the same cost.

They are on ebay all the time, picked the right time to bid ex: sunday arvo/night and l got mine for $80ea. Had the tank already and $40 in fittings from Pirtec. My local 4x4 store sell the compressors for $200ea.

I've got a boss with a 9L tank and it pumps my 37s from 14 to 40psi in 6 minutes per tyre. It used to take about the same time with the airline at the garage. It is great but is still not as fast as a good endless air setup though.

Yeah this is the issue. No doubt its an excellent compressor but its use doesn't warrant the expense.

Nelso, 6 minutes each tyre sounds excessive. I'd hate to spend close to half an hour just inflating my tyres. Mine are only 35s and probably wouldnt take as long though. I'm pissed off I can't run endless air on my new donk, t worked beautifully on my old one, took about 2 to 3 minutes to go from 6 to 40 each tyre. I'd love to get that speed or close to it from a well setup yet relatively inexpensive 12V setup. I already have the tank and switches, etc. Just need a compressor (or 2).

No need to be an ass-clown

Dad just ordered one for the race car trailer. Why??? Because they are piss ant small compared to the 240v compressor we were going to use and the genset wasn't capable to run a big 240v, hence we went for the Oasis compressor, same performance, a third of the space used AND it free's up the generator for lights and other light duty tools.

There are also engineering companys up here fitting them under their field service utes to save space in the trays without compromising tool performance. This I will also be doing to my ute next year for the same reasons.

But hey, complain and be a smart ass if you want.

is it just me or does that look like a winch type motor attached to a york style aircon compressor?

i reckon if you were handy you could have one for less than $1100 USD.

Yep, they started out as a starter motor into a york. They look a bit more refined than that now, but that's the idea.

Yes, you can build one yourself pretty easily, with wrecker parts.

Warning, though, while they don't use any more power per task than a smaller compressor, they need a pretty heavy duty electrical set up if you expect to air up lots of tyres etc - I recall their peak load is something like 200A.

There is a BIG difference in time between 35s and 37s on 15x10 inch rims. You wouldn't think they would be that different but the 37s hold a ridiculous amount of air! It used to take the ARB about 15 min per tyre to get them to 20psi so I could drive to the garage to spend another 20 minutes to do the rest.

We should test it on someones 35 up at TuffTruck this weekend and post up how it goes next week.
