They look alright at the moment but once he has been using them for a few months I reckon the paint will suffer fairly quickly.

Nice looking Set-up......pity about the weight! At least he can run super low pressures to make the most of the extra weight.

What size tyre is that 33 or 35?

Cheers, Dano.

I think they are a nominal 37 but I seem to remember that they measure slightly under that at around 36.

I run 37" claws, they measure 36sumthing, but I do use staun internal bead locks. they hold on both beads at once, mechanical locks only hold the bead they are on,so to get boyh beads locked they need an innrr & outer lock. double locked beads then become painfull in tyre repairs ,,the new stauns are an easy fix, easy repair, easy tyre change & priced cheaper

I like the look of the stauns and they are eventually what I would like to run in combination with something like maxxis mudzillas or similar. I don't know how the price compares with those in Australia but they end up about 120 pounds each in the UK.

borrow 1 of those other brands b4 you buy them, & test how it bags... I couldnt run some brands as their side walls were too thick & I nearly had to take the valve stems out of them toeven notice any change.. with the little weight we have, I run 8pnds in the rear & 12pnds in the front when competing.. no use havin a big $$$$$ tyre if you cant bag em out

The main attraction of the maxxis was they are the cheapest of the 'big' tyres available in the UK by some margin, Claws are twice the price for a similar size. I guess you think the sidewall will be too stiff on them? They haven't been around long here so I've not seen much off them yet, I know there are a couple of guys locally who run them on landrovers but I haven't seem them in action yet. I guess you get on well with the claws? The other main choices here would probably be simex, something from super swamper or pitbull rockers, have you tried any of these?
