rear pinion seal 94 disco

feel the pinion before you remove anything to see if there's any play up and down. Play could mean you need to get help. No play should mean you can go ahead and mark posi and remove the t shaft. Note the posi of the existing seal - this is where the new one will need to go - ie., the correct depth is important. Rattle gun will help, otherwise long handled socked wrench/bar is needed to undo the flange nut, The flange wil fall out. Prise the seal out, and tap the new one in using a bit if sealant around the outer edge. Check the seal flange contact area. Hopefully it won't be too grooved. f it is, then a new flange may be needed (or an expensive sppedy sleeve) as the new seal won't seal, or last long. Reassembly is just the reverse, making sure you put it back in order and tighten the flange nut up to torque - or to pre-load if a crush tube is fitted. Check for free play/pre load (this does not need to be excessive - should be able to turn by hand just). Re-fit t shaft......change oil will you're at it
Nice gq swb ute chop with a huffer for the good times
