2.8 turbo diesel intercooler

im looking at a 98 model gu 2.8 turbo diesel intercooled st patrol 300 thousand ks 5speed manual injectors and pump just done one owner all ks is highway no towing body and interiors mint condition price is 14grand is there anything i should look for before i take the plunge n trade my old girl in on it????cheers skinner

Yes

Make sure it starts when hot

Check turbo out let pipe for oil

Mark sure the head gasket is replaced or in good condition

Turbo should be replaced by now if not check

Drive the car in 2nd or 3rd full throttle than back off and check the gear lever dose not jump out

If all good go for it.

was reading your reply to old mate re: 2.8's and alittle light bolb came on (in my head)" i've got a GQ 2.8 td that doesn't like to start when hot " can u help me out here .. ? the glow plug relay seems to play up when it wants to so the glow light on the dash flashes for 5 mins some times . im hoping its as simple as that but i have a strange feeling it's not .. any help would be great thanks ADAM
