Which 4" or larger lift kit to get for a TJ 98 to 02???
I would like some help in deciding on which lift kit to purchase after I buy my TJ JEEP.
the Jeep will be sometimes used for Daily Driving, But not every day.
I am looking for somethign that is probably going to be more capable then I need so that if I do get in a sticky situation I can use it.
Looking at doing some long journey's up north in the next few years so ride comfort is helpfull.
I haven't done alot of reasearch into the Rubicon Express (RE) kits yet,
My budget is kinda limited aswell, $1600 max, ATM
I have a friend who can help me fit it, and he can also help getting it blue plated for road use, solong as it a complete kit and not a Bits'a.
If you are very happy with your 4" lift kit and its a complete kit off the shelf, Then I would appreciate your input and helpfull advice.
here are some of the kits I am looking at!

Danzo, I assume you are looking at 4" lift to clear 33's?. If you are buying local I don't think you will get a kit with arms for that much money but maybe.
But as others have alluded to - the real costs with 33's then come with diff ratios to give you back a low first and a usable 5th.. at which time people want lockers as well. A slip yoke eliminator and new rear drive shaft is a good idea and some people find it compulsory at 4" to get rid of vibes... although combinatios of transfer case spacers, motor mounts, and upper rear adjustable arms can all help.
Not wanting to put you off but if you have some idea of where you think you want to go with mods in the long term and look at the $ that start to mount up.
An alternative, is to stick with 2" lift from OME or similar coil kits or any of the budget coil spacer kits, buy or make some from sway bar disconnects, a good set of 31s, a speedo correction gear, and maybe a front lunchbox style locker to compliment the rear LSD. Depending on your touring plans maybe more value in a decent electric winch and bar???
Of course if you are buying a 2nd hand then you can pickup a TJ with many of the mods you want at little or no premium over a stock jeep and keep your $1600 bucks. Buy from the forums rather than dealers
