HIlux ln106 vs surf - part swapping

Post by thehanko »

HI,

I have had advice both ways, some say definitly yes, some say definitly no.

will a power steering box from a surf fit into an ln106 hilux?

some say the ifs of the surf has a different box, others say it doesnt change.

Does anyone have actual experience or 2 vehicles to compare to see if they are the same?

its on the drivers side between the motor and the guard.

thanks for any help guys

I'd say confidently that the power steer box from a Surf will fit the IFS ln106 (SR5 dual cab, extra cab, 4runner).
The power steer box from a Surf will definetly not fit a rigid front ln 106.
The IFS box is common and cheap, the other is not.

All import Surfs are Aussie 4runners (both IFS) when it comes to the same year of production. Also the IFS Hilux from front seats forward are the same too.

The only difference is the Engine, engine management, wiring loom and some extra shiny bits and electronics.
