Not sure what you are planning Jim but there will a couple in the club in a little while.
The look the goods and are very small and neat. I guess time will tell if they are up to the job. As yet I have no idea about how they shift, how they stand up to mud or anything, but for the price, they are far cheaper than even trying to work something out in the shed.
as for strength- I am sure they will be fine. I have never heard of anyone breaking a front drive dog on a sierra case, and the rear disconnect looks far bigger than that.
Those of us that will be running them will also be on double toughs. I am not planning on mine for full on competition style digs but rather to get more maneuverability in technical terrain. At least initially, I won't be running cutting brakes so it's just to get the front to move around without having the back pushing.

The Yuri Disconect is so, so beefy and well made, and for my aplication/Competition crawling it is perfect, it also gets used on high traction surfaces and gets shifted in difficult situations, so I think the strength is needed.
Think the trail tough disconect will be fine for what you guys want to do with them

I was very impressed with the look of your pimpin' yuri disconnect, but it is hard to argue with the neatness and price of the trail tough.
anyway, at least if we bust it we should be able to just throw a stock flange back on and drive home.

Have only used it a couple of times, seems to be OK. Install is easy.

Had mine on a while. I don't have enough lock or front grip to use the disconnect much, but even with my lack of lock it does reduce turning circle when crawling.
Mines been through heaps of mud and done quite a few road kams and is fine. It dies need a bit of a shove to get it started this would be fixed with grease , but I'm reluctant to grease it as it will just trap dust and grit.

Mine had a transfer mounted handbrake, my diffs are not Suzuki and are about to get discs on the rear anyway.
My two handbrake options are:
1. Have a small disc manufactured with a motorcycle caliper mounted to the rear driveshaft
2. B&M Launch control, brake lock off solenoid. This is the really easy option, as to how long it will hold i am not sure. This is also not roadworthy.

it would have to go after the disconnect... (driveshaft side)
sierrajim what about a push button line lock. No elecs to worry about, although you'd need to 'T' it in to your brake line. I'm unsure if it could work for rear brakes only or if its just designed to hold all 4 though...

The electric solenoid would give the option of having them front and rear with one button activation. This way i have a four wheel park brake.

Just wondering do these actually lock connected or disconnected, and is there any chance they will move during transit. The reason I ask is that when I tow mine, the back wheels stay on the ground and I need to remove the drive shaft and having the disconnect will mean I wont need to lay in the dirt to reinstall it
