Pics of Your Rig......
Moderator: -Scott-
Here's a poser pic of my beast. First time i've seen the flex since i put patrol springs and 3" rancho's in. Also removed the sway bar. I reckon it's not bad flex for a 3 link. The shocks give very good travel. Had to make brackets to hold the springs in place as even with 4" lift they want to come out. Still had more travel in the rear too. What do you guys think?
Yeah i'm really happy with the artic they give. The patrol springs where a heavier duty spring so on road they handle about the same as the old 2" springs + 1" spacers, even with the sway bar removed. They seem to compress quite well also for a H Duty spring. The shocks are RS500 with a part # of C145A2. I got them through this mob http://www.4wd1.com/?gclid=CLzznPye_5ECFRuiiQodVlia4w. I just asked for 3" shocks but they extend more than a 3" lift. They are very reasonably priced however i did get them at trade as we buy a bit of stuff through them at work.-Scott- wrote:That's pretty impressive droop there. I think mine binds on the shocks before I droop that far. Which model Ranchos do you have?
With the old springs and spacers the springs wanted to fall out at full droop. Even with the patrol springs i had to make brackets up to secure the spring to the lower spring seat. I think its a great setup for both on and offroad and you can really feel the back end moving around offroad and gripping a lot more. I reccomend this setup to anyone looking for more travel out of the rear. Hope this helps.
They are a standard height patrol spring but a thicker gauge spring. They added 50mm to the height of 2" springs + 1" spacers. I'm thinking about a 4" to 4.5" lift. The front is wound up with the bump stops chopped and it sits reasonably level. I think it handles great on road because of the stiffer springs (even though the sway bar has been removed) and i have no vibrations as others have had with patrol springs.
Hey all, first post, so thought I'd start with my new purchase. This thing was a steal and very impressed with it's performance even on these road tyres (the first thing to be replaced!!)
Going to give it a little bit of a spruce up, tyres, lift kit, nice big bar and a winch, something I've found to be a must. It's never been on a beach, it will now! And I've got a feeling it's never even seen much dirt.
I do need a bit of help with the sunroof though, (believe it or not, this is the ONLY thing wrong with the whole car) but it's ruined, and I have not been able to find anyone that can repair it.
Can anyone suggest a suitable repairer?
Thanks for looking at my pics and look forward to staying here a while, you guys really have a good forum going on here!

Is it just the fabric that is wrong with the sunroof?
If so try these - i fitted the back section only, but the sunrrof should be the same quality

Thanks for the link Jop,
phoned up, and the bloke was a really nice gent.
Helped out remarkably, and was more than happy to give advice (a plug of advertising!)
$300 for the sunroof alone, $1500 for both sunroof and rear canopy.
Will order one soon, once he emails me a quote, then let all know what it's quality is like. I'm sure it's going to be good.

Cool, mate. What's the specs on that? How much lift? Looks phat. What's the engineering requirements for mods like that? I only ask because the police up this way are rabid.hammo82 wrote:A couple of my Triton which returned from the workshop yesterday, (just body lifted, suspension done, 33's)
CMS - Nice shots, and nice truck.
It drives better than before I reckon. No probs at all. The tyres only JUST fit though without scrubbing.
The suspension is a bit of a bitsa,
-Pedders Heavy Duty torsion bars
-Rear springs have had a leaf added and have been re-set
-Monroe Magnum gas shocks... These were recomended to me, don't know what they are going to be like. I will change them if need be.
