I'm not making the trip up this year so goodluck to all those competing, marshalling, spectating etc ;)

For those like myself who are staying home and rely on Outers for updates I'll be getting reports from a couple of sources and will be posting them up here as I have in the past so stay tuned :)

It would be good if some others could also post up any news they hear as well

UK trucks are due to land this morning.... we've just spoken to the agent and he's still confident that we'll have them by tonight. ALL we have to do then is drive to BH :)

Hoping we'll get to BH by mid morning tomorrow, Saturday. If customs play up we'll be stuck in Sydney for the weekend.

Fingers crossed we'll be there for show and shine !

Spoke to Jonesy earlier as everyone was getting ready to head out to 9 Mile for Even Stevens (SS1). Not much news to report so far but he did say that.......

- The Welcoming Ball last night was washed out and some bad memories came "flooding" back for those involved in last year's event.

- Has been raining with chilling winds but weather is looking better for the rest of the week.

- Every team passed scrutineering besides Laurie & Sean who have pulled out and Phil Swindale hasn't been sighted.

Will hopefully have some news from 9 Mile later tonight.

Sorry I dont have a top 10 but I just got off the phone with the guys, I think they have had a few too many cans for accurate details but here's what I've heard:

Todd Robadrs did well, as did Terence Reinders and Neil Cooper. Ian Paltridge's new supercharged LS2 is aparently an absolute animal of a motor and Bill Tsaousis's new engine worked well also, however both took it easy tonight finishing mid feild. Birdy who also eased into the week was seen with the bonnet up checking something out on the way back to Broken Hill... lets hope it's nothing serious.

I've been promised an update after tommorow's racing so I'll post up when I hear more.

Just spoke to Andrew, Hoons co, birdy snapped a timing chain last night and has been busy changing it with a replacement scabbed fron Darren Greens GU. So far he hasnt shown up at the prolog which starts shortly. No sleep for the Birdy team or Andrew last night.
Joe.

Thanks for the support & concern guys but Sean & I are still on the Gold Coast. I made a tough decision Wednesday last week to pull out, a few things caused this. We were making a few changes & even though the guys had done a lot of work on the Lux while I was in Morocco we still had a lot to do. Also my work got very busy & I know Matty who works for me would have been under a lot of pressure. My work makes it possible to have a comp truck plus a couple of personal issues in my life at the moment & yes Sean & I are very miserable that we are not there. But Pete & I will be at Rocky hopefully we can extend our lead.

Have just spoken to Jonesy and Trudi and here's the latest news they had......

- Courses at the quarry are tighter this year and the big HP vehicles aren't getting much chance to use their power.

- The usual boiler is being used as a compulsory winch obstacle but some teams have also had to winch out of the water obstacle.

- Al McMullen's jeep had a brake caliper come loose and tear out the brake line from the caliper.

- Car 50, Shane Kilmurray & Jack Talbot, rolled in the water obstacle. All ok and vehicle was towed out but damage is unknown, might only be cosmetic.

- Birdy and Kev have not been sighted at the quarry yet.

- Good crowd at the quarry and weather is starting to improve.

Will have more news in a couple of hours.

Just spoke to Kevy, they don't think that there is any damage done every thing is slowly going back together. they hope to have it all back together for tonight at the sand stages. Big night for the boys and not much time to get any more sleep now. Hope they get out there to have some fun. Wish i was there.
Hopefully will have some more news. All good news.
Sorry to here Laurie and Sean didn't get there. Its always good to watch Laurie in action.

Latest news...........

- Brett & James in the Zuk on steroids rolled in the water. Their transport truck was last seen entering the quarry????

- Jimny from Poland broke 2 CV's and DNF'd both stages.

- Wormy and Clay broke their winch on the boiler and DNF'd.

- Lots of broken ropes resulting DNF's including Darren Green and Huddy.

- Quarry stages were running behind and probably finshed about 30 minutes ago.

- Hoon and Muppets are still running strong and quick and seem to be the front runners still.

That's all.......
