Hey guys, I saw an import prado (similar to troopy) for 12 grand. It was optioned up, even had a rear locker. Ive never seen one before and just wondering what the go is. It looked like it was on bunderra coils and had the 2.4 turbo motor. Im after a replacement for my mq patrol and this would suit but how hard are they to mod/ insure and find parts for.
Cheers Evan
So I guess they would be a worth while purchase. I might look into it a bit further. Are there still insurance drama's with grey imports? WHich is the better of the surf motor, the 2.4 or 3.0. IM more concerned with reliability and parts availability than smoking tyres. Cheers for the reply.
Weak underneath????? Do you mean driveline wise? I would want to be running 33's on it so it would need to be able to handle them. I just really like the body shape and retro brown interior

It's not retro, it's just ooold!
Drivetrain is basically the same as hilux. Gearbox could cause issues on an n/a diesel (i imagine the TD's are the r151 box - real strong ). I can't see 33's being a problem!
