Rust in the roof and rear window frames is a huge thing to check for.
Also cracked body mounts.

leaky power steer box. nearly every one i looked at had it. they can cost a bit to repair.

Find the issue of 4wd monthly that had buying used GQ's in it, bar that rear door with wheel on it open and see if it fall's any 1-3 mm ok but any more and the hinges are stuffing up, with the engine running pull the dip stick out if it blows like a chiminy drop the bonet and leave expect a littel puff but not to much, bar that good luck and get it checked by a pro
