I will be using a set of 35" MTZ's on my comp truck at round 2 of extreme winch comp

I've got them. I love them, in fact they're probably the best all round tyre i've used. Sticky as on road and off.

My only complaint - which means little because of what they are - is they're loud. They make a high pitch ripping type sound on the road (depending on the surface, sometimes it's crazy loud, other times not too bad), as opposed the humming sound the Claws I had made....

The MTZs are a true all terrain because this tyre performs well in every terrain off road and its the best 4x4 tyre I have ever used onroad. The MTZs are a quiet as AT and the grip on wet roads is unbelievable.
This tyre is in leage of its its own no other tyre I have tried comes close.

from my experience they are crap in the sand(compared to bfg's) but good everywhere else.

they have improved the development of M/T branded tyres by adding 2 extra plys going on in different angles, where as normal belts just go up & down M/T have added these cross ply belts, to add to side wall protection & limmit ripping & tearing, but as far as staking goes,im yet to see a sharp stick that has a brand preference, I think every brand can be subseptable to side wall staking of some sort.

-Scott-, just to clarify, i didnt say all sidewalls are the same, my point was just that you can stake any brand sidewall if the conditions are met.

Having done about 35000k on my 285s i recon they aren't any where near BFG Muds in the Mud . definately a great on road tyre and good in the sand but in mud.... if BFG muds were a 10 i would give MTZs a 7 also wear is a problem initial tread depth is 15mm compared with 17mm for the BFGs i am down to 10mm now

Thats odd that the importers haven't don't supply the 37 mtzs but will supply the claw in 37s. Send them an e-mail and see if they can import you a set. This is the part number 5277 for 37X12.50R17LT MTZS.

If you want a huge range of 37s you will need 17inch rims, there are only a couple of brands that make 37s for 16inch rims and even less of 15inch rims.

I've had a set for just over 20,000 ks now
Have sliced 1 sidewall at cruiser, and a mate has sliced one of his at ormeau. But that sort of stuff comes with 4wding i guess. They have had a hard life so with only the one sidewall i'm not complaining...
Other than that i'm very happy. They were very quiet onroad when i first got them, but if you use em for what they are designed for that will probaly change. I have a few chips from offroad use and as a result are pretty noisy onroad. For the grip they offer offroad it's worth it. :turn-l:

Im going to put the 35's on tomorrow, just wondering about tyre pressures for on road , the Hummer replica weighs 2040kg, evenly split, 1020kg each end, what sorta pressure would you guy's recommend, I usually run 32 in the X-terrains.
