GU pick up, yep they exist

Post by johno »

Just saw some pictures on another forum of the pick up, its got the tub like the old MQ but styled to suite the GU. The pics are from the UAE, Pity we cant get em here.

Also if your into ute tubs it would be perfect for the GQ, wonder if you could import a tub???

the pics are on australianhunting.net scroll down to 4wd section and follow thread on "my new rig "

They look long and cumbersome like a hilux tray and aren't really GU-ish enough for me in the styling - needing to be bobbed! But then agaion why bother, go tube.

I've seen a GU with a Navara style side tray on it - looked good.

Have you read the specs? What's going on there?

4.2 Litre turbo ... 90 kw flat out, 282 nM.
Leafs in the back.
Mega-pov pack with no stereo, and it's not even an option. For some reason it has no stereo, no aerial, but it still has speakers?? For what?

80L sub fuel tank, which I would like... But it doesn't have a low fuel warning light... WTF?

Yeah I agree that it does'nt really suite the GU style but I reckon it would look good on a GQ

I reckon it looks like the old 720 (i think thats right) 2wd ute tub from way back it doesnt suit it at all.

I dont think so, the 720 which i think was the same as the tub that was on the MQ was a little different, the lower 8 - 10"used to duck back in behind the cabin on the MQ and the early mavericks and GQs ive seen them on and I reckon the tail gate was a bit different

Sorry mate i think you took that the wrong way i didnt mean they lifted a tray off a 720 and bolted it to a GU.
The general styling reminds me of that shape and the tail gate might actually look more alike than you give credit especially the bold NISSAN signage on it.
I just think it looks to old school for the rounded shape of the GU.

The ute bed on that GU looks crap.

Very similiar styling to my G60 UTE and like someone said very similiar to the MQ and GQ. Either way it does not suit a GU
