What Engine fits?

Post by loopy31 »

Hi Guys,
My 3B diesel has just done itself so I'm up for putting something else in FJ 70 Bundy. Does anyone know what alternatives may slot right in and where's a good place to source something? Doesn't have to be blue plated as it's only for 4x4 park use and play.
Cheers

the only thing that slots right in is a 3b. a 13bt will mount to the same gearbox, but will need other work to fit.

if you can source a gearbox out of a petrol, then the petrol range of motors (2f/3f/3fe) will go in without too many headaches.

other than that, it's conversion time, and imagination is the limit

3b engine

Ian

I got a 3b with a turbo sitting around for about a year now. I replaced it with a 13bt. I'm in melbourne if you're interested, we can try work something out.

Otherwise, 13bt is really worth considering. Its not that hard to change over. Nam and I put it in ourselves and we never done anything like that b4. only really minor differences.
