I have just brought a NL GLX Pajero which has 15x7jj Sunraiser rims with Cooper ST tyres on it.
The cooper tyres seem to be suffering a funny wear pattern which is taking the front of the tread lug of creating a ramped lug. The main issue is a loud droning around at 100kph+
What I was going to do was change the tyres at some stage and would like to goto 16" wheels. What is the PCD of the bolt pattern? Is it same as Toyota and Nissan? Would wheels of a Patrol fit?
Someone has some 16 x 8 with 13mm offset for sale. If the 13mm offset and offset front center?
Would these fit?

Yes they would, but I think zero offset is a better fit. Factory 15x7" rims had a +10mm offset. Presuming the quoted 13mm offset is positive offset, that would actually narrow your track slightly (no major problem) but, if you go to taller tyres in the future, a zero offset will help correct for the change to your scrub radius.dusty_nz wrote:Someone has some 16 x 8 with 13mm offset for sale. Positive offset moves the centreline of the wheel towards the centre of the vehicle. Negative offset moves the wheels "out". A +13mm offset produces a narrower track than a +10mm offset (narrower by 2 x 3mm = 6mm.) So, compared with a +10mm offset 7" wide rim, the +13mm offset 8" wide rim would add more width inside (nominally 15.5mm) and less outside (nominally 9.5mm.)dusty_nz wrote:So the 13mm offset is the amount the wheel is offset from center.

So 16x8 would effectively hangout almost 16mm more than the std wheels and would be 9mm incl further inside as well?

The JJ thingy describes the profile of the bead, which helps to hold the tyre on the rim. JJ is common for 4wds.
In regards to the unusual wear - I have a similar problem on a set of second hand cooper st's I just bought.
Got told by the tyre place the shockies must have been worn on the 4x4 they came off which has created small flat spots which is what you describe by the ramping of the tread. Might want to get them checked out before fitting new tyres.
They are an absolute paint at 100km/h as it feels like they are way out of balance so I hope I can wear them down over time (about 80% tread) not sure if they will ever flatten out tho... something I will check next time!!

Its only on the fronts and new shocks. The tread starts as flat then slowly wears a ramp on the back face to the front edge of the lug. The tyres were rotated/reversed the tyres (Front to back) and it started again while the now back tyres started to wear flat.
Only impact is lots of noise at 100kph however handles fine. Havn't taken it onto a race track yet
