Suzuki Is Playing Up... Any Ideas?
Suzuki Is Playing Up... Any Ideas?
Hi guys,
I know this is already posted by my old man but some suzuki guys may not even go through general tech and have a look through Suzuki Tech only.
As stated in general tech, My car is shuddering like crap, it scares the crap out of you herendously and feels like your wheels are going to fall off!!! It takes so much just to control it but before it will even attempt to stop shuddering you have to slow down, (atleast 50Km).
We have already established that it is not any of the following:
Have changed the wheels/tyres to bigger 31's (originally had stock zook Wheels/tyres and did it at first with them on) - no change
Have checked/reset wheel bearings - no change
Tire rod ends good
No noticable movement in kingpins
Steering dampener good
Alignment looks ok
& custom bullbar is heavy but has no affect except make steering eavier, have taken off and put on bull bar but does it either way.
The shudder started after a body lift, have rechecked the lift and nothing out of place.
Can ANYONE help me??
Cheers

Search on "death wobble" This has been covered lots.
In short, swivel seals, toe, caster are all major factors.

Hi Guys,
WELL WELL WELL, i took apart my axles and what not, i had brough 2 sets of king ping bearings and wheel bearings, i did the right side last night with my old man took the wheel bearings out and lets just say, you could have played in a band with them.. Literally they were like meroccas...
Once we changed the wheel bearings and king pins, added some more grease to the old grease and all, once we put it all back together we went for a drive down the highway... it was still shuddering but not as bad and we could hit 101 kms
SO i think i have found the problem..
