hey guys, i have just finished my body lift on my new suzi, i have to problems now, one is that i cant shut my doors?? the door is not to hight for the latch? not too sure how that works.. and secondly i cant start the car anymore, the starter motor seems to engage fine, and i dont think there is a spark plug problem, it was running perfect this morning, yeah i jut out of ideas...

Impact screwdriver seems to be the go or you'll end up either stripping the heads out or spending all day cursing the door hinges with a standard screwdriver. Also if you've got some Penetrine spray or the like (wd40), give that a quick spray around the edges of the screws to aid in them coming free.suziguy wrote:thanks nik, it seems to be that the screws in the hinge are really rusted, any ideas on how the get them out... and yeah i did find a wire disconected on the coil, but it still does the same thing...
Another way I've seen them done is using the tip of a cold chisel and a short sharp hit from a hammer in the anti clockwise direction to loosen them up.
Once your done, might pay you to loctite them so they don't come loose down the track.
As for engine woes, just check for anything that has either come off, loosened or pinched once you lifted the body. Wish I could help you more with that one.

When you did the body lift did you use all the old rubber blocks with the body lift or just the body lift, if you didn't keep things the same after its lift you may have a slight twist in the body now as it wasn't raised equally which is stopping your door closing...? But adjusting at as the guys have suggested may be the only fix if your not sure what you left out where.
Trial and error with the engine not running when you did the body lift did you check all the breather lines and what not to the fuel filler and all the lines to the body and chassis had not been affected....?

hey guys, yeah i tried an impact driver, did not work, kinda stumped, dont have a welder so yeah, thinking about grinding of the bolts or drilling them and getting new bolts, and with the fuel problem, i clutch started it down the hill, seems to be alright when i do that, but if you leave it running its ok for about 10 minutes then it starts to die and then it does die. when i go to start it again, the same thing happens as before, the starter motor engages but it dosnt actually start..??

also check that you dont have crap floating around in your fuel tank as it could block the pickup get an air compressor and blow the fuel line from the carbi back into the fuel tank to dislodge anything that may be in the line

i had this problem a while back took ages to figure it out evan put brand new fuel pump on etc,,, it would run fine then just cut out and stop then run fine,(the tank wasnt evan that badly dinted )suziguy wrote:i dont get it... why would a dinted fuel tank effect wether the car is getting fuel or not?
thanks for all the help guy, i decided to take a plunge and roll start it and drive to work, it got there fine and started up fine when i finished, so hopefully the problem fixed itself, but i will go over the fuel tank thing and blow throught the fuel lines... im still a bit puzzled on the doors, any ideas? the best i can come up with is grinding away the bolts and getting some new ones...
