I had one years ago, it was a great bus, little bit underpowered but pretty economical.

Didnt do heaps of 4wd in it but what I did it performed well.

Cheers mate. I'm not really lookin at it for play, That's what the troll's for  mainly lookin at it as a cheap runabout. Is there any mechanical things to look out for and are they bad for rust etc :?: Cheers again Mick

I had a 720 with a sd23 in it was my first car loved it to peices which is what happened to it in the end, i drove it to it's death.
As for rust i had it in the tub around the tie downs and around the front windscreen and a pillar and the same area on the door but only on the drivers side.
What a car i loved it Now I want to go find one.

From memory mine was pretty much rust free, but this was about 12 years ago, I had a minor issue with a fan hub but no other issues at all.

Yeh they had the Z24 motor. Which turned into the KA24 in later D21 models (very similar motor). And then apparently the ZD30 but not sure about the actual truth behind that one.

Probably true... The driveline is still pretty much the same in the deisels from the 720's though to the d22's
