Just a few Scat Q's

Post by dano80 »

Hey guys, just need to know if the rear diff centre is in the centre on a Scat? And how about the front centre, is it on the left or right of car?

Also has it got a gearbox and t/case in one or are they seperate units, i.e suzuki sierra?

Just need to know cause I'm going to put some wider diffs and need to know what to put under it. And then fix the gearing, re- t/case Q.

Cheers, Dano.

Both the front and rear diffs are off to the right hand side.

As for diff options a guy in my club is in the process of building one with GQ Patrol Axles. You couldn't push the thing over on it's side if you tried. Even though the GQ rear is in the center, it isn't a huge concern as although the Scat ones are offset, due to the width of the things, they aren't that far from the center anyway.

I've got a GQ......I wonder if the missus would notice if the diffs were missing when she goes shopping?

Thanks Datman, looking at a few options maybe another t/case slung behind original or something.....not entirely sure yet, and prolly won't be till I get the rig in my own driveway.

Cheers, Dano.

P.S. Will be a trail only rig.......no rego

Yeah I thought about the 'lux diffs, being that they are already spoa and if you were keen you could maybe use 'lux leaves with shackle reversal, but I wanted to go 36/37's and I think this could be a ploblem, with skinny little axles and chicken bone cv's...........compared to say, GQ or something. Just my 2c.

Could always get hold of some 'Mog 404's
