fuel problem

Post by muddyjunior »

Hi,
I was wondering if any one has had this problem. I have just changed the fuel filter on my Diesel 4.2 GQ patrol. When I went to restart the blessed thing it was surging as if not enough fuel. It would run at 1200 revs for say 3 minutes and then drop down to 600 revs for a few minutes and back upto 1200 again. If I didnt hold it at around 1200 revs then when it dropped in revs it would stall.
After a while it seemed to come good, I thought maybe some air in the system but now when you rev it a little bit and then let it idle, it runs very rough as if there is not enough fuel.

Any clues would be greatly appreciated.
