Re: ratios for air lockers for patrol
The diff lock only replaces the Diff centre. You need to disassemble the diff and put your crown wheel onto the locker housing so you diff ratio will remian whatever it is now. I think shorties all came out 4.1:1, but i am happy to be corrected.mudhunt wrote:Hey im just about to buy a front air locker for my gq, Im ordering online from rocky road the front locker code if im correct is rd78a ???????

the RD78A has been discontinued the new number for the front patrol locker is RD136 it has a new modifed housing and takes 50mm id side carrier bearings. they should have done this to the rear locker instead of the front as its the one that breaks housings

And if you're doing it yourself, make sure you use the locking tabs and some thread lock on the crownwheel bolts. I've had two crownwheels come "undone" due to the workshop NOT reinstalling/using the locking tabs.Ruffy wrote:You need to disassemble the diff and put your crown wheel onto the locker housing so you diff ratio will remian whatever it is now.
Its a bit of a no-brainer, but it has happened....
