24v mq
Go to Jaycar, ask them for a 24v -> 12v inverter.
Easy
I bought a 40 amp unit from them the other day, but it would be overkill for you...

mate your cig lighter is 12 volt on your Mq. from factory. pull your power for your stereo off your cig lighter circuit. it will be fine for accesories on your stereo, then run your constant 12 volt off 1 battery.
will be fine. dont need an inverter if your only running a head unit. only need it if u intend on running an amp and sub or other 12 volt high current accessories.

if your rig is 24v like mine, then the cig lighter is also 24v ...check first, the 24v wagons have a small wattage inverter inside the plastic panel on the passanger side footwell that supplies the power to some 12v guages and the low wattage, nissan stock (rude as) stereo's.
Dont run off one bat as you screw up the charging balance and have continual bat problems (been there). the best way is as gonzo said is to use an inverter.
Do it once do it right..........good luck

God of Magnificant Ideas!
Obviously some confusion between 24 volt setups... MQ & MK......juls wrote:Yep mines 24V cig lighter too.
The wiring diagram shows a 12V supply for the stereo, it must be there somewhere.
MQ =24volt cig lighter with a 12volt radio
MK = 12volt cig lighter with 12volt radio
"garth" was pretty well spot on with his post....... except the battery drain bit, a radio wont drag the current that much to cause the battery issue....
unless your fitting a head unit and amp.
If your still concerned then just run the power wires from one battery direct to the radio.
