hey guys am thinking about getting a sierra soft top and making the back in 2 a ute like is done 2 a few swb patrol comp trucks has any 1 done this if so can i get pics and any thoughts on this topic

I've got a ute chopped SWB soft top mate, I like it but it's not everyones cup of tea.

yeah im thinking more towards making a pation between and not cuting it just use the back as the tray

Build a hardtop for your Ute back and be done with it. At least you will have some weatherproof storage space plus the tray feature...would be a lot easier and legal than chopping the body off....

yeh, i have an opinion. i've done the swb ute chop and if i had another swb soft top i would make a partiton/ rear wall and roof section. i think you would be able to do a tidy job with fairly low effort. my approach would be to use some fairly thin marine ply for the rear wall and use a front windscreen for a rear window (easier to come by than a factory rear window) give the ply a good thick coat of sealer then paint it the same colour as the rest of the car. use some sort of goop to glue it in place. liquid nails or eurothane type stuff.the roof section would have to be folded out of sheet steel or alloy checker plate maybe?
