alternator help
I am after a range rover 1987 alternator as mine is playing up. Would anyone know of a good used one or a reasonably priced new one . or any alternative ideas would be appreciated. Please PM any help thanks
Depending on the exact issue an alternative is to pull it apart and free the brushes.
Mine stopped charging last time I was at Landcruiser Park, after pulling it out and apart found one of the brushes was stuck in so a quick ten minutes of pushing, prodding and some cooking oil it free'd up.
Slapped it back together and good as new :)
Still going sweet 3 months later
If the brushes are actually worn a new set can be gotten cheap at most motor rewinding mob's. easy to fit.
