gu III keyless entry/reprogramming??

Post by RUGS »

hey guys i have just purchased a gu patrol III plus, and upon picking it up from the dealer only recieved 1 key(excuse was we can only give what we got) anyway so i have one key, and no keyless remote, i rang nissan and gave them the vin and they said that it did come out with the remote, hence i purchased one from nissan but am waiting to get it programed then came across how to program it myself (under the nu bible) and tried but couldnt get it to work.
1st question could my patrol no have come out with keyless?
2nd is the method of reprograming the remote not relavent to my patrol

Nissan Patrol Reference Document
KEYLESS REMOTE - REPROGRAMMING
Heres how it’s done:
1. Get in your vehicle and close all the doors.
2. Using your drivers lock button, lock all doors.
3. After doors are locked take your ignition key and insert it and remove it from ignition
switch in a slow fashion (six times in and out).
4. The hazard lights should flash and the doors will unlock.
5. Re-lock the doors using the drivers lock button.
6. Put the key in ignition switch and turn to the on position. Do not start the engine or
you will have to start again.
7. When in the on position hit the lock button on the remote, your hazard lights should
flash.

any info would be great :) thanx

Does your key reminder work?? If it has been disconnected it can cause problems trying to code remotes.

key reminder? sorry im not sure what that is, i just realised to that my door light is staying and that probably is why the key programing isnt working as the computer prob thinks a door is still open,, which brings me to another question how is the best way to check which door is playing up, i tried going around with all the doors closed and the car running and opening a door at a time and pushing the button in and out each door at a time but cant even get a blink out of the light it just is constantly on, which makes me think that it might be wiring possibly???

It will be the back door, it will need adjusting, I normally lift the door (as they drop over time), on there hinges to get the alignment spot on then adjust the strikers to suit,
you will find that the larger door is not closed properly and if you slam it, it will close and the light will go out.
