Guys and gals tried a seach but found limited but if you have links please post,
my first time on suzuki threads so here go's/ normally on nissan.
Looking at prob 95 or newer sierra with 2 icnh and 31s or we will do it...
in terms of year models what should i be chassing or avoiding?
Prob prefer hard top i suppose..... maybe 150 000kms or less sound reasnoble and for around that 7k mark??? must be in good order in any case not one thats been thrashed around glasshouse mountains etc
any hints appreciated

for $7K you could get an awsome condition sierra with less km's than that. Make sure you get a 1.3 WT in 1989 or newer but not a coily and you'll have no dramas modifying. And a LWB is worth the trouble finding one. And as mentioned look for rust

ok some good tips here... lower kms obviously the ideal..
They have powersteer and aircond among other options and are much nicer to drive on road for any great length of time.
If you want to get serious offroad, get a Sierra.
Post 88 model(WT Leafy)... pre 95(coily)
KM's isn't really a big deal with Sierras as replacement engines, boxes, transfers & diffs are so cheap.
300,000km is the most you can expect out of a stock engine.
Same with gearbox but rebuild kits are cheap.

From the sounds of it a coily (96-98) may be a worthwhile consideration. Although a Leaf Wide Track is the better starting point as far as a serious project goes, especially in the front end, if not going to go crazy with mods a coily will do the job quite fine.

Small lift, larger tyres and swap in an earlier model transfer case to bring the gearing back to standard and it would go quite fine.
But then a Vitara or Feroza would have to come into consideration if only going to that point. A lot better to drive on the road then a Sierra would ever be.
