Radius arm bushes/Nissan dealers???
Radius arm bushes/Nissan dealers???
Just went down to the local nissan spares place to see if they stock the radius arm bushes or if I have to order them in.... and how much(albeit roughly ) they would cost.
Why does it seem everytime I go into THIS spares place, they won't do anything for ya unless you have a VIN No for them to reference??? Is this just a nissan dealership thing or just this dealership??( I know, I should carry it with me but, FARK... is it really that hard to look up something so simple on the computer??)
Me: I could be mistaken, but I thought all standard GQ & GU radius arm bushes were all the same.
His reply: (in an arrogant tone) I need a VIN no before I can help you... here's my card. call me when you have the VIN No!!!
Me: (huff, leaving the card on the counter) don't worry about it, I'll go somewhere else if it's too much trouble
SOOOO, in saying this...... who on here sells the genuine type radius arm bushes for a GQ?? I'm looking for a complete set, diff & chassis end. I really need them before the end of this week too, as I got a drive on this weekend coming.
Cheers,
Brighty.

When in doubt..... UTE-ERIZE it!!!
all nissan dealers are doing this for some shit reason, but they can still look up shit without it, us for example, have a GU patrol that was an RD28t. its now a TD42T, i have so many times, had to tell them if i give them the chassis number it will not help them find the motor parts,
there is one guy at me local nissan dealer who is a top bloke, i just tell him the patrol has had a motor conversion and i need motor bits and he look them up, no dramas,
it all comes down to the guy with the knowledge of the computer he will find it,
genuine nissan slotted bushes.
Here's the part number. N/54560 VB012
There about $50 each but well worth it and they last for years.

Radius Arm to Chassis bushes part number is 5447601J00. You need 4 of them at approx $20 each.

Yeah, thats what it was like when I used to go to the Toyota spares.... they were really good and we ended up getting along well.... and I even got most of the stuff at much discounted prices too!!coxy321 wrote:All my local dealers parts guy asks for is the model (GQ), year, body type, engine and gearbox type. Then he pulls up the exploded diagram on his computer screen then get me to point out which part i need. Easy.

But these morons at the nissan spares..... they don't even want to try to help. I got the wierdest looks when I went in this morning to order the parts and showed them the part No's I wanted. Sorta looked at me like....'how the fark did you get these No's??'
When in doubt..... UTE-ERIZE it!!!
They cost more and won't last quite as long.troylux wrote:so whats the difference between slotted and solid bushes
i am assuming that the slotted ones will flex better, is this right?
if so what are the cons of them.
Thanks

I used to get the same confused looks when i used to order parts for my MK Patrols (which apparently never existed ). The conversation was always interesting....brighty wrote:I got the wierdest looks when I went in this morning to order the parts and showed them the part No's I wanted. Me - "Could i please order some upper shackle sleeves for the front of a 1986 LWB SD33T MK wagon."
(parts guy puts numbers into computer, shows a confused look)
Parts guy- "So an MQ LWB SD33T?"
Me- "No, its an MK. Looks the same, but its different. Later build etc etc..."
Parts guy- "So really, its an MQ?! Isnt it?! "
Me- "No. Same sort of car, but a different model. Like an VR/VS Commodore".
Parts guy- "Well, we dont have a listing for that model here, so i'm afraid i cant really help, sorry." - End of discussion.
And yes, it appears that there are still people around that havent heard of the "intramanet" re: people finding part numbers. They should be greatful as it saves them time, plus the responsibilty of supplying the wrong parts falls back onto the person that come in with the "wrong" part numbers.
