Most of it looks the goods. Going to see the owner to inspect it in the next couple of days.

Zooks are for people that aren't afraid of angles and who have nothing to compensate for
Layto: don't offer mate, I might just take you up on it

Thats not it. Same colour, but thats got a murati back on it. The one Rod chopped for mandy was made into an extra cab. Plus that has zuk diffs, Mandys had the hilux/rodeo combo on coils
Off to inspect in on the weekend (with a fistful of fifties to avoid the ebay hassle).
My only concern is the dramas involved in getting it rego'd.
I left $1500 in the budget to cover Engineering, blueslips and those fun games. Should be enough if it doesn't have any scary issues hiding underneath.

Nice. If the vehicle is engeineered already, and has not had any more work done to it that will require re-inspection, the engineer's certificate should still be current. If you can contact the engineer you should be able to get another copy of the certificate. Ask the current owner who the engineer was, and contact them before the purchase to confirm. The RTA and the inspection station that performed the registration after the issueing of the engineers certificate should also keep a copy of the certificate for their records too. There should be one in the car any time it is on a public property i think as well. Deffinatley contact the engineer first before you go shelling out for a total new inspection and any possible drama's it might bring. Blueslip is easy, just make sure everything is in good shape, no oil leak, everything tight, seatbelts good etc. As long as there is nothing major, yout should be right with $1500.
Layto....

Best of luck with it! I've 'scared' a few sellers into a quick, no-hassle sale when inspecting vehicles off ebay. Tell them stories of people never turning up after winning the auction, turning up and then saying 'Nah I don't want it' etc. Plus a fistful of cash speaks all languages
Just this week I got a bloke to knock $400 off a vehicle with a $1450 starting bid, pretty stoked at that!
