my rig made a loudish bang while trying a hill just b4 and now vibrates when on road could it be a uni? or a cv? im new to the 4b scene

Was the 'bang' from the front or back of your car?

Does you little gear stick move around now, if so check you transfer case mounts. It is usally the rear chassis side which busts

Have you tried to rotate the driveshaft by hand, you will see if there is play in the uni

Check that you have not broke or bent a rear spring

CVs are in the front axle and should not cause problems as the huns should be dis-engaged for the road

Could be a number of things to be honest.

bang was from the back i think.
uni sas a tad of play but nothing scary. its just the vibratin i cant work out

Did you smash your drive shaft on a rock, this can send it out of balace?

i dont think so as it was only a dozer cutout. have realized that there is play in the actual shaft that entres the diff. and my left fron wheel bearing has a lil play aswell. are they easy to replace?

Pinion Bearing is a pain in the bum, easier to just swap diff centres if you have a spare
There is a front wheel bearing thread one or two pages back
Good to learn as it will not be last time.

so u reckon its the pinion bearing? hard to do or just long time? driveable on it?

If it is the pinion bearing it will not last long
In fact should it completely collopse it may be quite dangerous as it may lock the rear diff up
Never done it but it requires basicall a full rebuild of the centre, not the easiest job to do.
Luckily I had a spare ready to when mine went.
