Will this fit without any issues, a Toyota 22RE from a Corona RT142 with a W55? gearbox to a YN67 HiLux 4x4 with a G52 that originally had/has a 4Y engine. I heard that it's merely a bolt on conversion, no adaption plate needed.
Thanks for the info,
Keith.

Use the W55 bellhousing and it will bolt straight to your gearbox. You may need to modify the mounts on the chassie although there are 2 different possitions for the engine mounts on the 22RE and you may get away with it. The mount brackets on the engine on the RT142 22RE are further forward than the Hilux 22R ones. You will need a 4wd sump and pickup from a 22R otherwise the diff can hit the sump on full up travel. The back of the intake manifold can foul on the brake booster but a polution valve can be unbolted and a plate fitted and it should just clear from memory. Its been at least 6 or 7 years since i did the efi conversion on my old hilux. The wiring removal from the RT142 is a nightmare as the Airflow meter wiring runs through the dash harness and out the drivers side of the firewall. Instead of out the passenger side like the rest of the engine harness. Although you could prob just cut it at the firewall and splice it back in at the computer.craz3d wrote:Will this fit without any issues, a Toyota 22RE from a Corona RT142 with a W55? gearbox to a YN67 HiLux 4x4 with a G52 that originally had/has a 4Y engine. No but as i said you will need the Sump and pick up from a 4wd 22R hilux. And possibly the engine mount brackets from the 4WD(the ones that bolt to the engine not the chassie). Your also going to need all the EFI harness and computer if its not been removed from the car. As well as an EFI fuel pump. A VL commodore one is about the best for this set up.craz3d wrote:Well the engine I'm getting from the RT142 is already out of the vehicle, so that shouldn't be an issue. So so long as I have the bellhousing, it shouldn't be an issue really?
