Re: coil conversion
dunno about stronger. a set of chromo longs, upgraded carrier bolts, and an airlocker makes for a pretty strong setupbad mudda wrote:Here is a pic of my setup.

I would love to have some big coilover's but at the moment im sticking with G,Q coil's as they are cheap and nasty.

thats what i was suggesting to 4wdaction mag. do a comparison.
get say 7 or so brands of common rigs Cvs. then get a couple of aftermarkets.
break them and see where you end up.
for added info, buy 1 or 2 ebay cheap specials and see how they go compared to stock factory ones?

even if the makers of those ones pictured (don't know squat about them) got a set tested by a certified lab. bobby has done it for the longfields, and it really encourages transparency in the marketplace.DIRTY ROCK STAR wrote:thats what i was suggesting to 4wdaction mag. do a comparison.

They come from the same company that manufactures the Longfield for Bobby. However they are not made to the same recipe. They would be of similar strength though.bad_religion_au wrote:anyone got any breaking strain data on em. be an interesting comparison with the longs (data available on the longfield website)
I can not see 4wdaction paying the money it would cost to have a machine built capable of destruction testing of a CV nor paying for the CVs in the first place to test them.DIRTY ROCK STAR wrote:thats what i was suggesting to 4wdaction mag. do a comparison.

Until someone comes up with a way of attaching these CVs to the hub we will never know how strong they really are in the real world.bad mudda wrote: G,Q

still think from a marketting point of view, the breaking strain tests on bobby's sight gives the consumer confidence in spending the $$$. it's not like a hiclone where they have anecdotal data.RUFF wrote:They come from the same company that manufactures the Longfield for Bobby. there are a few places that will do destruction testing for that sort of data.
