Hey mate, soon i'll be looking for a Hi/Low H4 setup, since my stockers REALLY suck! can you recommend any where to look for decent ones, like option 2? really dont want my primary lighting to die out bush!bushy555 wrote:Bushy's ramblings:

There are three types of moving mechanisms that I know of.
1) Moving bubl in and out, conencted to the solenoid. Personally I reckon this would suck, since the amount of *shock* that is giving the bulb is heaps. Unfortunately tihs is in the few H4 kits that I had. One left in stock. Didn't know until I got them here.
Anyway, had some chinese chick try to tell me the other day 'good product, sliding bulb best. sliding shield no good. All fail. Our product not once fail. 2 dollar sucky sucky?'
2) Moving / sliding sheild - connected to solenoid. Prolly the best I reckon. The moving metal sheild creates the high and low beam - light pattern cut off points. Is what I chucked into my ute nearly four years ago, and so far have not needed to touch them. Cheap chinese crap back then and still works.
3) Tilting bulb - the bulb tilts from standard horizontal position to that of around 15 to 20 degrees which creates the lo and high beam pattern. Again, moving bulb --- shock factor --- not real good in my opionion.
To LEGALLY convert standard headlights to HID according to the ADR's, the lght must be self leveling, must have some form of self cleaning(washers) and must have bulb shields.sudso wrote:Regarding HID conversions to factory headlights: isnt it illegal unless the headlights or HID globes have integrated bulb shields in front of the globes?
ADR 77 and ADR78 goes on and on. Some more rubbish:Ruffy wrote:To LEGALLY convert standard headlights to HID according to the ADR's, the lght must be self leveling, must have some form of self cleaning(washers) and must have bulb shields.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that is how it is written.Ruffy wrote:To LEGALLY convert standard headlights to HID according to the ADR's, the light must be self leveling, OR must have some form of self cleaning(washers) OR must have bulb shields.
