detroit locker nissan GQ rear
detroit locker nissan GQ rear
help looking for some ppl in the know i am looking for a detroit locker for rear of gq coil mav can i still get them from the states as not avalible in aust only chose is arb air locker that i hate ( seal problems just dont ask long story but i refuse to pull another diff out over seals ) H E L P thanks tom
I have detroit lockers in my gq front and rear. for the nockres both in centers with 4.6 gears for $1000 front gears were new as was the rear locker cant do that with air lockers.
problems
cvs but i have never broken one in a situation where you wouldnt break one with any other locker.
reduced turning circle this is the one that is the most painfull but managable
mud in slipery conditions they will not unlock so steering is gratley reduced and the most trublesome
once you learn to drive on the road with with any automatic locker they are not that different . agressive throttle through cornering is not recomended if you dont want to draw attention to yourself
i honestly think that on a budget they are great but my gq isn't driven a lot on the road
if you have any questions just ask
Brad

GQ TD42, 4" lift, 2" bodylift, 4.6 s, detroit lockers, 35,s t3/t4 plus a turbo,
im pretty sure you can get lokker diff locks for the rear of a gq... same principle as a detroit locker. but i would go with the front one first as the nissan lsd is fairly good anyway. you can also add more shims to the lsd clutch pack to make it work better
01 td42 GU patrol ute, with extra bits and pieces.
