Temperature gauge keeps dieing.

Hi guys, I have replaced my temperature gauge twice now...goes ok for a day or two and then snuffs it - any ideas please?
1991 GQ TD42 Safari, 5spd, 4" Lift, 35" shovels, Locked & Loaded.
