Vibration in 3rd Gear

Post by tinman »

Hi Guys,

I'm looking at a 4.5l GU to purchse and the car has a vibration in 3rd gear that can be felt through the gear lever, but isn't noticable otherwise. I've used search to see if there is any issue like this - plenty on 5th gear in 4.2TDs. Has anyone hear of this / experienced the same sort of problem?

no whining, but is obvious if you have your hand on the gear lever. It doesn't happen in any other gear though.

heaps of cars do, if you have no whine/whurr, and synchors are workin in all gears...shift fast up and shift down at higher revs to check, its most likley normal.

Unless you can see it wobbling 10mm when in gear lol
