Need some rocky 5 speed parts...

Post by Hatsu »

Hello,
I pulled my dearbox apart recently because it was making strange noises, and among other things I found that the pads on all the shift forks had warn all the way down, basically instead of being 6mm pads, they were now 3mm and using the entire shift fork face to shift the gears. Not good.

What I need, and hopefully someone can help me with, is a rocky 5 speed shift assembly.
I need all the shift forks, the shifting mechanism, and the alloy housing that they fit into, all in servicable condition as mine are knackered. Naturally I'm willing to pay for them, and for the cost of having them posted to where I am in Melbourne.

If anyone can help me out, let me know, it's started snowing and I want to go driving!
Thanks, Damian.

Not that I know that they have the parts your after but have you tried DaiAuto and Toyhatsu wreckers here in Melbourne ?
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

I'll have them. Got 3 Rocky's I'm slowly wrecking

Have a box hear that was making whining noises at high speed.

I'll pull it apart and try and work out which bits your talking about and see if they're any good.

Don't have any pics of the stuff you need do you?

Here's a picture from the manual:

I need pretty much everything in that photo, when you pull the top off the gearbox it all comes off in one piece, and that's what I'm after...

Haven't tried Daiauto or toyhatsu for ages, last time I spoke to them chasing some other parts the prices they quoted were excessive, and I haven't bothered to call back since to see if anythings changed.

RockyF75, let me know how you go mate.
Thanks, Damian.

Bet nothing has changed - wreckers think they have you by the balls, and sometimes they do......

If you want any close ups of particular parts let me know. As for a price, I'll try and get one off a wrecker, and do it a bit cheaper than that. But I got a feeling they'd usually want to sell a box whole not just parts of it.

Excellent, thanks for that mate.
Let me know how you go with the wreckers and pm me the prices.

When I pull the box apart again I'll put up a photo of what's left of my shift forks for comparison.

Thanks mate, Damian.
